"Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;
And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately." (Luke 12:35-36)
I know that many do not really believe this, but, "Jesus is coming back one day!" He told us to be expecting His call!
How many times does this happen? You are in your house, and aren't expecting a visitor.
Suddenly, there is a knock at the door. But you are not dressed to receive company. You run around trying to get covered up before coming to the door. All the while, you are hoping that they don't give up, and leave before you get there.
That is what Jesus is talking about in this passage. "Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;" (v. 35)
"...that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately." (v. 36)
Wait, and watch! "Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not." (v. 40)
From my heart to your heart.
