"All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass." (Matthew 21:4-5)
Last night, Donna and I was watching the Bill Gaither Reunion on T.V. They ended the program with, "The King is Coming". This morning, in my A. M. reading assignment, I read, "...Behold, thy King cometh unto thee,..."
Thank you, Lord, for reminding me that you came! And, for reminding me that you are coming again!
The first time He came, He came to be our Savior, and to make peace between God and man.
Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on a colt of a donkey, a young, male burrow. That is a far cry from a war-horse! Jesus was on a peaceful mission.
His mission of peace was very successful! Since that day, countless millions have come to Jesus for His saving grace, and have peace within their hearts.
Peace within our hearts! And rest for our weary souls!
1) Peace, and rest for our souls, because we have been released from Satan's captivity, and misguided agenda for our lives.
2) Peace, and rest for our souls, because we have been set free from the bondage of harmful sins that destroyed our bodies, and hurt our families and friends.
3) Peace, and rest for our souls, because we are in our Heavenly Father's care, and heaven awaits us.
4) Peace, and rest for our souls, because Jesus lives in our hearts, and is our constant friend, never leaving us nor forsaking us.
5) Peace, and rest for our souls, because the Holy Ghost is our teacher and our guide into all truth.
6) Peace, and rest for our souls, because we have become a part of a loving family of fellow believers that pray for us, and encourage us in our pilgrimage.
7) Peace, and rest for our souls, because we are saved by the grace of God for all eternity. We are in His hands, and no one can ever take us away from Him! (John 10:28)
8) Peace, and rest for our souls, because we are not under the penalty of our sin, and have escaped eternal damnation in the fiery pits of hell.
9) Peace, and rest for our souls, because we have hope when all others have no hope. Our future is in the benevolent hands of our Heavenly Father.
0) Peace, and rest for our souls, because we are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Paul wrote of this peace in his letter to the Philippians, "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:7)
He said that it is a peace that goes beyond our ability to comprehend. Wow! Thank you, Lord!
Keep your eyes upon Jesus. And Keep watching the eastern horizon! He's coming again!
From my heart to your heart.
