"Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid...: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee." (Deuteronomy 31:6)
Last night, I learned that a couple of my close ones are having some health issues. This comes on the heals of tornadoes, catastrophic property damages, and other close ones who have had some hardships, and health scares, as well.
Maybe, you are having a tough time, as well?
This verse has been one of my foundations stones! Over the years of my life, I have been comforted by cleaving to the promises that God's Word teaches from this verse.
The context of this passage is:
1) Moses is dying! God has told him that he is going to carry him away from this earth.
2) That does not frighten, Moses. But, what does concern him is the people that he loves. He knows that they will face many perilous times in their lifetime. So, he tells them what they must do to make it through those times.
a) "Be strong..."
b) Be "...of a good courage,..."
c) "...fear not, nor be afraid..."
d) "...for (because) the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee;..."
e) "...he will not fail thee,..."
f) "...nor forsake thee."
Maybe, you have had some things happen that has caused you some distress?
Grab, and hold on to, the promises of God. He loves you, and He "...it is that doth go with thee;..."
Pray for those you love that are in trouble, and share a comforting word with them.
From my heart to your heart.
