"And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee." (Exodus 4:1)
Every Cristian struggles with their own credibility. "What if they don't believe me when I say that you have come unto me, and saved me?" That is the question that haunts the believer.
Moses was troubled by it as well. He wondered if people would think that he was just putting on airs, or, maybe , he was lying about what had happened to him in the wilderness.
I remember when God saved me. I was filled with so much joy. And I wanted all of my friends to have what God had given to me.
So, I went to them, and tried to tell them what had happened to me. I didn't know if I was doing any good or not, nor did I know if anyone believed what I was trying to tell them.
But, one day, I met one of my old school mates on the streets of Lecompte, LA. His first question was, "Willie, what has happened to you? I hear that you are going to church, and even singing in the choir."
So, I told him what had happened to me.
I knew then, that God would help others to believe that He had the power to change the leper's spots, and to set the captives free!
Moses wondered if anyone would believe his story about what God had done in his life. God assured Moses that He would work in Him, and that others would know that His Spirit rested upon him.
So, today, when you wonder, "...But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee." Just tell your story, and let God do the rest!
From my heart to your heart.
